Blended Learning is the most up-to-date and modern approach to course delivery which is endorsed by the leading academic institutions in the western world because it brings together the best of both classroom and distance learning such as provided by The Open College. It is not intended to replace either of these individual approaches, rather to build from each to create an innovative and more effective learning experience for our students. We only ever offer small classes with team-based learning providing our students with better support and increased time for quality one to one tuition.
The Open College Blended Learning programmes will leverage that which is best done in-person (group presentations; debates; reflexive response/thought) in combination with that which is best done through distance (deeper, reflective discourse; document management and organisation and time management).
Each course will typically be 3-4 days of classroom learning or 'Directive Days' combined with the distance learning aspect (project work and assignments) which are supported and delivered by our professionally qualified experts/tutors. As The Open College innovates this blended learning approach, each learner has access to their course Tutor on the training days and have contact with the same Tutor for guidance, clarification and the assessments submission during the distance learning element of the course.
