Unit 4: Health Management:

Preferred entry level:

  • Level 4 Certificate or Leaving Certificate or equivalent qualifications and/or relevant life and work experiences.

 

Programme Entry Requirements:

  • If you take this course by distance learning the course material will be posted to you. You can complete and return assignments/projects which must be typed rather than handwritten either by post or by email.
  • As part of the assessment criteria for this module learners will be required to carry out practical demonstrations, with this in mind learners will need to be involved or be able to identify a work placement where they will be able to carry out these tasks.

Learner Record: The Learner will be required to write 4 reflective journals, describing specific learning experiences, activities, responses and skills acquired. It will include a selection of evidence arising from candidates work in relation to Infection Control Prevention issues and topics.

Examination: Students will sit a two hour supervised exam. Four structure questions to be answered out of a possible Six. Each question will carry 10 marks.

Skills Demonstration: Candidates will be observed carrying out a Hand Hygiene related to specific learning outcomes.

 

Grading:

Pass 50 – 64%
Merit 65 – 79%
Distinction 80 – 100%

Please note all exams will take place at our offices in Dublin or in a location in Louth and will incur a €50.00 examination fee.

 

 

Accreditation

  • Following successful completion you will receive a QQI Level 5 component Certificate in Infection Prevention and Control (5N3734).
