Open College Scholarship Programme for 2011

**Due to a high level of interest the Application Deadline has been extended to August 30th.**

Overview

The Open College is a social entrepreneurial organisation which has in just over three years become Ireland's largest provider of FETAC approved courses. This has happened because we offer our courses at the best value possible across the whole of Ireland. We are also extremely proud of the fact that we believe we are the first organistation to offer educational and training courses to the public on a not for profit basis.

Programme

Welcome to the Open College's first Scholarship programme. As Ireland’s leading provider of Distance & eLearning courses, our courses educate and train hundreds and hundreds of people throughout the country. Our interaction with these people reminds us daily about our responsibilities as an employer and as a good provider of education.

While price, value and delivering excellent service will always be important for the very many people who enrol with us each year, other issues are increasingly important too.

This year and every year for the next 5 years The Open College will be running a scholarship programme offering over 30 FETAC award courses free to successful applicants across Ireland at a value of over €100,000. These courses will be delivered by distance learning and the scholarship programme is our way of providing FETAC awards to people who may not be in a position to further educate themselves for whatever reason.

Each scholarship issued will be fully comprehensive with all course materials supplied and with one-to-one tutor support for the duration of the course.  All tutor fees, course fees, examination and certification fees will be covered as part of the scholarship.

Our scholarship programme covers all FETAC Levels 5 & 6 component awards as offered by the Open College but does not include Major awards.
