Student Services Coordinator (Full-Time Role)

 

Student Services Coordinator

 

Scope & Purpose of the Role:

The Student Service Coordinator is responsible for Planning, Supporting and Managing the successful running of the day-to-day operations of the college in terms of supporting learners and staff and the delivery of a highly flexible, responsive and effective services to all.

The ideal candidate will take ownership of their role and work closely with members of the Programme Lecturing Team, Learners, and External Stakeholders to ensure the effective provision of supports associated with individual programmes of study.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performing day-to-day operations administration duties relevant to Business support, IT supports and Student Services etc.
  • Day-to-day management and coordination of the programme, working collaboratively with the programme lecturing team, learners and any external stakeholders.
  • Participate as required in open evenings and recruitment events and with organisation of inductions events with learners, staff and external agencies as appropriate.
  • Point of contact for lecturing staff and learners in relation to providing support for all programme matters day to day operations, regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Coordinating with the appropriate members of the programme lecturing team in relation to any cases of assessment misconduct and appeals.
  • Monitoring the overall quality of the learner’s experience through on-going feedback and engagements with learners and staff.
  • Ad-Hoc Duties: The Students Service Coordinator will be required to support the general day-to-day operations of the college and from time to time, may be required to perform duties outside the ones outlined above.

 

Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate should have a Third Level Qualification in Education/Management/ Communications or any other relevant field.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is essential.

  • Good at juggling tasks and prioritising.
  • A great team player with good people skills.
  • Good numeracy skills.
  • Ability to use your own initiative.

Reports to: Operations Manager

Based at: Hybrid Working – The Open College, Unit 9, Leopardstown Business Centre, Ballyogan Road, Leopardstown, Dublin 18.

Position Status: Permanent Full-Time Position.

Commencement Date: Immediate.

Salary: €27,500 – €28,500 based on experience.

Additional Training Support Grant also provided.

Customer Relations Executive (Part-Time Role)

Scope & Purpose of the Role:

Scope & Purpose of the Role:

This role typically requires extensive academic experience, which includes contributions in teaching, sector research and related management/administration, leading to national/international recognition for their expertise within their academic discipline.

Lecturers will be expected to take leading roles in developing and design and overseeing teaching programmes at all levels and to lead collaborative work across the category. As such they will provide leadership that will influence and shape the output of their department and will contribute directly to the level of success enjoyed by the department. Role holders will continue to teach, advise and assess both undergraduate and postgraduate students. They will also be expected to make a wider contribution to the success of the College through their participation in Faculty and College-wide governance and development activities.

Specific Skills:

  • Ability to lecture to a high standard and develop curriculum
  • Technical online teaching and presentation skills

Qualifications:

Essential

  • A relevant undergraduate Degree in Health & Social Care
  • Master’s Degree or working towards one.

  • A PhD and a sustained track record of teaching and research within a specialism; or an appropriate professional qualification and significant relevant professional experience at a senior level.

 

Experience:

  • Extensive experience working withing the field specific to the course.
  • Experience lecturing at undergraduate level.
  • Experience with online teaching platforms.
  • An on-going and demonstrable commitment to scholarship, research and/or innovation.
  • An up-to-date knowledge and understanding of changing trends and requirements in the subjects’ industrial and professional domains.
  • Understanding of quality issues and requirements in HE.
