New opportunities have arisen for Student Support Coordinators to join our company. The applicant will gain practical experience in Student services, Customer service, dealing with the Public, Office Procedures, Quality Control, Education Sector Procedures, Attending meetings and General Office functions.

 

Reports to: Operations Manager

Based at: Hybrid Working – The Open College, Unit 9, Leopardstown Business Centre, Ballyogan Road, Leopardstown, Dublin 18

Position Status: Fulltime – Permanent

Commencement Date: Immediate Starts

 

Scope & Purpose of the Role:

The Student Service Coordinator is responsible for Planning, Supporting and Managing the successful running of the day-to-day operations of the college in terms of supporting learners and staff and the delivery of a highly flexible, responsive and effective services to all.

The ideal candidate will take ownership of their role and work closely with members of the Programme Lecturing Team, Learners, and External Stakeholders to ensure the effective provision of supports associated with individual programmes of study.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Performing day-to-day operations administration duties relevant to Business support, IT supports and Student Services etc.
  • Day-to-day management and coordination of the programme, working collaboratively with the programme lecturing team, learners and any external stakeholders.
  • Participate as required in open evenings and recruitment events and with organisation of inductions events with learners, staff and external agencies as appropriate.
  • Point of contact for lecturing staff and learners in relation to providing support for all programme matters day to day operations, regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Monitoring the overall quality of the learner’s experience through on-going feedback and engagements with learners and staff.
  • Coordinating with the appropriate members of the programme lecturing team in relation to any cases of assessment misconduct and appeals.
  • Ad-Hoc Duties: The Students Service Coordinator will be required to support the general day-to-day operations of the college and from time to time, may be required to perform duties outside the ones outlined above.

 

Qualifications:

  • A relevant qualification in Education / Communications / Management or any other relevant field is required.
  • Prior experience in a similar role is essential.

Scope & Purpose of the Role:

The Business Development Executive role will support the market development at The Open College by conducting market research, identifying leads, building relationships, creating new business opportunities, closing deals and providing sales support. The role requires effective researching, selling, collaborating and nurturing stakeholder relationships.

This role is integral to the organisation’s growth strategy, collaborating with various departments and contributing to revenue growth. The college sees this role as one that has sufficient progression opportunities.

 

Key responsibilities will Include:

  • Researching and identifying potential clients, business opportunities, partnerships and collaborations, etc.
  • Identifying and developing new business opportunities through market research and networking.
  • Initiating, building and maintaining strong and positive relationships with current & new clients, partnerships and other related parties.
  • Leveraging research data and information to proactively identify business opportunities across Ireland and gaining internal support to act upon these opportunities.
  • Enhancing the company’s brand awareness and corporate image.
  • Identifying, qualifying, and securing business opportunities, coordinating business generation activities, and developing customised targeted sales strategies.
  • Leveraging the media teams to maximize the company’s brand exposure.
  • Collaborating with the marketing team to develop sales strategies and campaigns.
  • Identification, assessment and proposition of new opportunities in further education industry.

 

Qualifications & Professional Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Marketing or a similar area is essential.
  • 2-3 years of project management and development experience, handling multiple stakeholders and managing sales.
  • Extensive experience with generating leads, closing deals and establishing professional relationships.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Resourceful, with outstanding market research and sales skills.
  • An understanding of adult online training and further education industry would be helpful.

Module Developer & Online Instructional Designer

 

We are looking for an experienced module developer and online instructional designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for adult education with a proven track record in module development and knowledge of QQI validation policies and criteria for further education.

 

Based at: Remote working on behalf of The Open College, Unit 9, Ballyogan Road, Leopardstown, Dublin 18.

Position Status: Part Time Contractor

Commencement Date: Immediate Start

 

Scope & Purpose of the Role:

This role requires the ideal candidate to be responsible for creating, revising, and updating module descriptors for the purposes of validation for new/existing QQI programme.

In addition, the candidate will be responsible for creating module content suitable for online programmes of study while ensuring that all module/programme content remains relevant and aligns with all accreditation standards at the appropriate level of study. The ideal candidate will also have a strong understanding of adult learning principles and be able to develop content that is engaging, interactive, creative and appropriate to meet the needs of online education.

Additional teaching opportunities may be available subject to final validation approval and proposed commencement of new programmes running.

 

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (Level 7) relevant to subject matter.
  • Relevant education and training qualification to include registration to the teaching council.

or

  • Bachelor’s degree (Level 8) relevant to subject matter.

And

  • Experience in module development with understanding of the QQI validation process for further education and training programmes.
  • Experience of Technology Enhanced Learning.
  • Ability to create engaging, interactive and creative online learning materials.
  • Knowledge of current online pedagogy and best practices for teaching online.
  • Familiarity with national educational standards.

 

Role Requirements:

The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing module descriptors and developing module content that is suitable for online programmes of study, while maintaining consistency to ensure relevancy while adhering to the highest educational standards and policies. They are also responsible for managing and addressing any concerns regarding the quality of the learning experience and consider recommendations for curriculum improvement.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and design module descriptors and instructional materials to support student learning and learning outcomes in an online context.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop innovative approaches to instruction.
  • Developing assessment tools to measure learners’ progress over the duration of the module/programme.
  • Designing module content within the virtual learning platform which promotes interactions and engagements between learners and staff.
  • Preparing lesson plans and schedules that are appropriate to the type and duration of the programme.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of module(s) and make necessary changes in line with feedback collected from various stakeholders.
  • Serve on committees related to programme development and review.
  • Keep engaged with regulatory requirements for delivering online programmes of study within the further education and training domain.
  • Advise and provide recommendations for the improvement of modules/programmes.
  • Participate in the accreditation process for the college to include representation at validation event.
  • Developing teaching activities that align with new technologies and approaches within online education.

 

Desirable Skills:

  • Innovative and creative expertise that can be applied in the development of online education programmes.
  • Effective communication and digital literacy skills for collaborating with learners, tutors and other professionals.

We are expanding our Health & Social Care Degree programme and are seeking to recruit additional lecturers in the various Social Care areas.

Applicants are invited to apply who are suitably qualified and have the expertise in the Social Care industry from a range of services to include; practitioners, support workers, educators, managers, social workers, policy developers and/or any other relevant and associated discipline.

Mandatory:
